thanks so much for the guide. I started with MW3 and went back to play Black Ops after everyone I know said they preferred it to MW3. I am only a lvl 17 now but I find this helpful as I like to know what to look forward to. I did not like the M16 but did fairly well with the Enfield until I unlocked the Famas and fell in love. Can’t wait to get the Galil as it sounds like my kind of weapon. As a noob to COD games, I truly appreciate your time and effort to ease the noob transition.

Commando’s a direct upgrade to the AK-47; it has a faster reload time and switch time. Both have same damage, recoil, fire rate, etc. The Commando’s iron sights are a bit more clear though and some find the visual recoil of the AK47 to be troublesome. Unless you either like the AK-47′s sights anyway or you just plain like the gun more in general, there’s not much reason for using it once the Commando has been unlocked.

This leaves the Commando and Galil for contenders as the best high-damage automatic assault rifles. Out of the 2, I prefer the Commando for its much quicker reload over the Galil for its 5 more bullets. I suppose the switch time may also be different, although that’s not something worth worry about unless the weapon of interest is a pistol where you need to switch it out quickly when your primary runs dry. All comes down to personal preference, however.

The Stoner 63 is a good choice as well, however, my K/D ratio with the Commando is higher than my K/D ratio for the Stoner. (0.96 and 0.82, respectively) Whether this stems from the fact that the Stoner is unlocked earlier, I do not know.

I’m a Wii player, and the Famas never got a nerf. Which is annoying, because about 3/5 of all the players online use it. (speaking of which, some are new. Can you believe it? MW3′s been released and people are STILL buying black ops)

My preferred class:

Commando w/ Extended mags
M1911 w/ Extended mags
M67 frag grenade
Concussion grenade
Claymore
Scavenger Pro
Sleight of Hand Pro
Second Chance Pro (heh heh)

This seems to work as a pretty versatile class, good in both rushing and defending.

Hey, glad you enjoyed! I’m pretty surprised that people are still actively reading this guide, I kind of assumed most had moved onto MW3, but I guess people will always play COD, regardless of whether or not it’s the latest title in the series.

I like the AUG, it is awesome and is the best assault rifle for for close range. It has the highest damage of the ARs, equal with the FAMAS, which I hate due to it having worst ADS time, bad hip fire accuracy, and being the most spammed gun in the game.

With the galil I think it is good gun but I don`t really like it for some reason. Also even though it has 5 more rounds in a mag it takes a long time to reload and I find very often its just when your reloading you get caught by an enemy.
The commando is good although if you want to prestige you cant really use it all that often.

Disagree with what you said about the FAMAS, yeah it has some kick but I find it easy to control, and at close range it is far better than the Enfield due to it’s ability to put so much lead onto the target.

So now after looking back at my reply I change my opinion through further experience…lineup:

FAMAS – I disagree with the comment about it kicking like a feral donkey, I’ve found this gun kicks less than any other AR.
